Visitors are welcome to the village of Pilsley, but requested to please park sensitively and respect the needs of residents.
Pilsley is less than a mile away from Edensor, and provides further housing for Chatsworth Estate staff and pensioners. It is also the location for Pilsley CE Aided Primary School, which regularly joins in the worship of St Peter's, Edensor. Every July visitors come to Pilsley to enjoy the Derbyshire tradition of well-dressing, and the crowning of the Queen at the annual Pilsley Fair.
The welldressing at Pilsley village begins on Thursday 10t July at 7pm with the blessing of the wells, which remain on display for a week. Pilsley Fair is on Saturday 12th July, and is opened at 2pm by Becky Measures of Peak FM followed by a fancy dress parade, brass band, games, cream teas etc. and karaoke and hot refreshments on the Village Green from 7.30pm onwards.
